PokerStars introduces new Turbo Fifty50 SNG with a Promo

PokerStars is currently running a promotion for introducing their new type of Sit & Go tourney, called the 'Fifty50'! This tourney is similar to the 'Double or Nothing' style except half the prizepool is a standard payout and the other half is divided among the remaining players via chip count. They want everyone to try this new format. so if you deposit at least $50 using the code FIFTY50 they will instantly credit you with a '$5.24 Turbo Fifty50 Sit & Go' entry - for free! Just deposit before January 30th!

I did my deposit today and played my ticket. Took 18 minutes to complete. ICM has a huge implication near the bubble. Otherwise, keep trying to chip up on the bubble to gain that extra equity. GL at the tables!

WBCOOP - Day 1 PLO

Today was Day 1 of the WBCOOP 2011. This year, instead of having everyone qualify for the finals, they run 6 preliminary tournaments from Monday to Saturday where the top 200 finishers in each win a seat to the Sunday Final which has a prizepool over $30K in SCOOP prizes.

Each priminary tournament has a prizepool close to $5000 in SCOOP tickets.

In the first WBCOOP Prelinary Tournament, I came 122/540 and received a free SCOOP - $11 Entry! Time to robusto it up! Thanks PokerStars!

A PokerStars Promotion that Delivered

I'm a man who likes his equity, so when PokerStars offered up their new Micro Mania promotion, being the equity no that I am, I jumped on it.

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/promotions/micromania-north-america/

This promotion entailed the player to make a Deposit or Reload. In my case, I made a $10 reload using the promotional code 'Mania' and received a $1.10 ticket to the weekly ‘MicroMania: Sunday Million $1.10’ qualifier which has 25 seats guaranteed each week.

I finally got around to playing it this weekend after prior commitments for the past 2 weeks. I sat out the first 3-4 levels as I ran errands earlier in the day. The structure is one of my favourites, the 10-minute fast structure blind levels. All in all, it took 4.5 hours of grinding, 2000 players eliminating each other until 25 remained, a bit of luck and I was eventually one of the lucky 25 to win my $215 seat.

So while small, the promotion still worked out :) Thanks PokerStars

Congrats to ACHEN for the shippage!

I'd like to give a shoutout to my friend's brother, Andrew Chen aka achen, who took down the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $5K Bounty Shootout. It worked as a triple 6-max shootout and achen made it to a tough final table against the likes of Shaun Deeb and Nick Binger. In the end, it was a beautiful AhJh on a Jxx (2 heart board) where he got them all in 3 ways and made the flush on the turn to lock up the tourney win! In total he won $10K (winning first table) + $40K (winning second table) + $213K (winning final table and tourney) + 6K (for 6 KO Bounties) for a grand total of $269K! What a sweet way to kick off the new year! Congrats Andrew, best of luck to yah!

WBCOOP

PokerStars has updated their WBCOOP (World Blogger Championship of Online Poker) Badge.

They have also informed me to tell you all to keep blogging because WBCOOP 2011 is coming up this January!

WCOOP Recap

I played a bunch of WCOOP this year thanks to PokerStar's satellite system. I was able to win my way into a lot of events on less than $300 in buyins.

In total, I played 1 x $109; 4-5 x $215; 1 x $265; 2 x $320

I think I cashed 2 or 3 times. Nothing deep, but was fun. Structure was great and stacks always seemed to be deep. Can't wait to SCOOP 2011 and WCOOP 2011. Need to work on my game to make better deep runs. glgl all
